Hemodialysis is a widely used treatment modality for kidney failure. The treatment is intermittent, generally three times weekly for periods between 3 and 5 hrs depending upon the patient clinical requirements. In the treatment, some toxic compounds including urea, creatinine and 2-microglobulin as well as excrescent water were removed. Hollow fiber membranes are widely used in the hemodialysis treatment.
OCI hemodialyzer products are manufactured by Chengdu OCI Biomedical Device Co. Ltd. using a synthetic polymer membrane- Polyethersulfone (PES), which has the features of outstanding oxidative, thermal and hydrolytic stabilities, high intensity, smooth surface, as well as better blood compatibility and good anticoagulant ability.
PES hollow fiber dialyzer possesses superior ability to clear away harmful matters such as urea and creatinine, especially with high clearance for middle molecule weight toxin, such as 2-microproteins, as well as good ultrafiltration performance. The product is sterilized by EO or -ray. The product is suitable for rescuing or treating with acute and chronic renal failure caused by serious wound and poisoning.
